embody Weight Loss Review 2026: Pricing, Results & Is It Worth It?

Full embody weight loss review - how their doctor-led GLP-1 program works, what it costs, real patient results, pros and cons, and how it compares to competitors like ro, Noom, and altRx.

What Is embody?

embody is a telehealth weight loss platform that takes a doctor-led approach to GLP-1 treatment. Unlike many competitors that rely on nurse practitioners or automated prescribing, embody pairs every patient with a board-certified physician who oversees treatment from the initial evaluation through ongoing dose adjustments. Their focus on clinical quality and personalized care has made them one of the fastest-growing GLP-1 providers in 2026.

Our top 2 picks

Our two recommended GLP-1 providers, shown with the same verified pricing and ratings as our full comparison.

embody offers doctor-prescribed GLP-1 weight loss treatment - compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide injections - through a 100% online process. Getting started takes a roughly 5-minute health qualifier, after which a medical practitioner reviews your chart (embody says usually within 24 hours, often under 5). Pricing is flat and simple: $69/month for semaglutide and $119/month for tirzepatide, with no insurance required, no hidden fees, and no clinic visits. Medication ships in 1-2 days in temperature-controlled, tracked, insured packaging, and embody is LegitScript-certified and works with US-based 503A compounding pharmacies. On Trustpilot, embody averages 3.8 across 8,398 reviews - an honest, mixed-to-positive record whose recent reviews cluster around two themes: responsive, proactive customer service ('from my very first inquiry I've had excellent communication... customer service updated me every step,' writes one tirzepatide patient) and the no-surprises pricing ('Love the fact that there are no surprises as in costly up front cost'). A 3.7 also means a minority of customers had negative experiences - worth reading both ends of the reviews before deciding, as with any provider.

Treatments offered

Compounded semaglutide (GLP-1) injection · Compounded tirzepatide (GLP-1 + GIP) injection · Brand-name Zepbound and Wegovy · One simple injection per week

Starting price

$199$89/month

*Compounded medications are not FDA-approved.

  • Compounded GLP-1 from $89/mo, GLP-1 + GIP from $149/mo
  • Brand-name options too: Zepbound and Wegovy
  • Clinician-guided - physician, PA, or nurse practitioner
  • Free shipping (about 5-7 days)

from $89/month

altRx bills itself as "the #1 most affordable GLP-1 program," and its published prices largely back that up: compounded GLP-1 (semaglutide) from $89/month and GLP-1 + GIP (tirzepatide) from $149/month - flat at every dose, so the price doesn't climb as you titrate up - alongside one of the few genuine brand-name shelves in this space (Ozempic $1,149, Zepbound $1,249, Wegovy $1,579 per month). It's a self-pay telehealth service: you complete a short assessment, a licensed provider (physician, PA, or nurse practitioner) reviews it, and if appropriate a prescription goes to a licensed US pharmacy, with free shipping in about 5-7 days. No insurance is required, Buy Now, Pay Later is available, and you can pause or cancel anytime. Two things to know before the details: shipping is slower than the 1-2 day providers (embody, DirectMeds), and Trustpilot does not currently display an aggregate score on altRx's profile - the individual reviews we quote on this page are real, but there's no independent average to lean on the way there is for rivals like Medvi (4.3 across 14,836) or embody (3.8 across 8,398). One of the real 4-star reviews we surface notes a refill 'yet to be fulfilled with zero reason as to why' - worth factoring in alongside the price advantage.

Shipping delays kill score

“I will give them a 3 for how easy it is to sign up and understandable questions. Also the medical providers are friendly. What keeps this from being a 4-5 is the shipping delay. First dose said 3-5 days and I got it in 8 days. I'm now on my second dose, money taken out of my bank 2 weeks ago and I'm 3 days past my medication taking day. This is 8 days after my new dose was approved by a N.P. that I had a video chat with. I'm sure this will affect the weight loss!!”

Dismal customer support with errors

“Signing up is easy. Provider called, payment was issued and medication was shipped. It was when I was charged for something I did not ever get that things went very sideways. Customer service answers without checking full history, they provided multiple texts and emails, all from different people, all saying something different. I paid for something over two weeks ago that I did not get, and each person I talk to says "no refund policy" (didn't ask for one) or that I already got the medication. So if you want initial service with no ongoing correct follow up, this is the provider for you.”

How embody Works

The process is straightforward: complete an online health assessment (5-10 minutes), get matched with a licensed physician, receive a medical evaluation, and - if approved - have your medication shipped to your door. What sets embody apart is what happens after you start: a dedicated care coordinator monitors your progress, proactively reaches out during dose changes, and is available for questions throughout treatment. Most patients receive their first shipment within 3-5 days of approval.

Topic: Dose changes / clinician access

Embody is great if you don't need to actually talk to anyone. But if you are okay getting the default and starting from the beginning they are great. I used to get Sema from OrderlyMeds and after 1 year and stalling and feeling not so well I quit, then over 5 months I balooned up 20. So I found embody and their new low price for triz and was okay with starting at the 2.5 (or slightly lower because of the b12).

The med check was quick and I was approved same day, got my vial in just one week. Now 3 weeks in they bumped my dose to 5 (or 4.2) and shipped it out already. When I do the check in they will decide if I stick with 5 or go to 7.5 following month. But yeah if I wanted to get 10 from the start that may not have been possible. Everything is on autopilot, that's how they keep costs low.

Topic: Switching providers / fulfillment

I just switched to Embody from NativeMed. I haven't received my scrip yet but the process has been good so far. I placed my order on Monday, dr approved it Tuesday, it shipped today (Thursday) and scheduled to arrive tomorrow. And they matched my last dosage.

u/dreamy-lover

Hi, do you have an update you can share? I was planning on purchasing, but decided to look on Reddit first. Do they send the vial with liquid already mixed in? Also do they send needles?

r/Reddit·u/Comfortable_Whole343·2mo agoabout embody

Topic: Pricing / refills / support

I started about a month ago and so far so good. I think they revamped their program cause web med is sponsoring them from what I read. $129 for all levels of tri and no contract and I already moved up my dosages with no issues or kick back. They have been very prompt with responses and mail. My promotion also says if I lose nothing or not satisfied that refund is given.

u/ArtisticSalamander16

How do you submit a refill. I just did my third shot and was told to reach out to them for my next fill once I hit the third. My dashboard doesn't show me a message option though or refill request option. So I'm confused.

Topic: Clinical follow-up

“Nurse called me today asking have I taken the shot and if yes have I experienced any symptoms.”

Ordered on 8/6, medication delivered 8/14 - with a clinical follow-up call after the first dose.

“Arrived the next day from the pharmacy. Packaged nicely with ice packs.”

Three vials at $129 each; the honest catch: about two weeks between approval and the medication actually shipping - transit itself was next-day.

Topic: Fulfillment / billing

Order sat at the pharmacy for a couple of days - then, after a comment on embody's Facebook post: “they contacted me right away... rushed my order. I had it next day.”

“They just billed for the 2nd month - the amount is correct.” Gripes: the pharmacy premixed an anti-nausea ingredient without asking, and the 50-unit doses were larger than expected.

embody Pricing in 2026

embody offers competitive monthly pricing with medication, physician consultations, and ongoing support included - no hidden fees or separate charges. Their plans are month-to-month with no long-term contracts required.

Compared to other doctor-led programs that can charge $300-$500/month, embody's all-inclusive pricing represents strong value for the level of medical oversight provided. For a broader pricing comparison, see our complete cost guide.

What Medications Does embody Offer?

embody primarily offers compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide - the two most effective GLP-1 medications for weight loss. Both are delivered as weekly injections with graduated dosing protocols that start low and increase over time to minimize side effects.

Your physician selects the medication and dosing schedule based on your health profile, goals, and response to treatment. For details on how these medications work, read our guide on how GLP-1 medications work.

What To Know Before Starting GLP-1 Treatment

Before starting GLP-1 treatment, it's important to understand a few key things. These medications require a prescription from a licensed clinician and aren't suitable for everyone. Some people may experience side effects, especially during the first few weeks as the body adjusts.

GLP-1s also tend to work best when combined with basic lifestyle habits like balanced nutrition and regular physical activity.

That's why choosing a provider that offers proper medical screening and ongoing follow-up support is essential for both safety and long-term success.

Real Patient Results

embody patients consistently report significant weight loss results. In testimonials, patients describe losing 38-61 pounds over 3-6 months, with many highlighting the ease of the process and the quality of ongoing support.

Clinical data for the medications embody prescribes shows average weight loss of 15-22% of body weight over 12-18 months. Individual results vary based on starting weight, dose, diet, and activity level.

See our Ozempic before and after timeline for a detailed month-by-month breakdown.

embody Pros and Cons

Pros: Doctor-led treatment with dedicated care coordination. Transparent, affordable pricing with medication included.

Proactive check-ins and responsive support. Strong patient satisfaction and reviews.

No long-term contracts. Cons: Focused primarily on injectable GLP-1 medications (no oral options). May have a slightly longer initial evaluation process than faster-approval competitors.

Less brand recognition than larger platforms like ro or Noom.

How embody Compares to Other Providers

We've compared embody head-to-head with several leading providers: embody vs altRx (embody wins on care quality and pricing value), SHED vs embody (different approaches to personalization), embody vs ro (doctor-led vs streamlined), and embody vs Noom (medication-focused vs coaching-integrated). In most comparisons, embody stands out for its medical oversight and patient experience.

Who Is embody Best For?

embody is the best choice if you: want a board-certified doctor leading your treatment (not just a nurse practitioner), value proactive support and care coordination, prefer transparent pricing with everything included, are new to GLP-1 treatment and want a guided experience, or have a complex health history that benefits from careful medical oversight.

Our Verdict

embody has earned its place as one of our top-rated providers for 2026. Their doctor-led approach, affordable pricing, and exceptional patient experience make them a standout choice - especially for people who want more than just a prescription. If you value medical quality and personal attention, embody delivers. Read our full embody review, or take our matching quiz to see if embody is the right fit for your goals.
