This audit uses the same three tests we apply to every provider in our GLP-1 provider guide: is there a real clinical gate, do the published prices survive contact with the checkout, and what do the public reviews say when you read the low-star ones first.

How ro's weight-loss process actually works
You complete an online medical assessment. A qualified provider reviews it - ro's own reviewers describe a video call with an MD and follow-up by messaging - and decides whether treatment is appropriate. If prescribed, medication is dispensed by ro's integrated pharmacy and delivered to your home, with dose adjustments handled by the provider over time. One recent 5-star reviewer describes it as "just as if I was in with my primary care physician. They asked all necessary questions about my health and meds I take daily." Another: "I have had a follow up from a doctor who explained the process, the medication and usage."
Two things make ro structurally different from the compounded-first providers in our ranking. First, ro's published weight-loss pricing centers on brand-name medication - the Wegovy pill and pen and the Zepbound KwikPen - rather than a flat compounded plan. Second, insurance can apply to the medication. If your plan covers a GLP-1, ro's route can cost far less than any cash price on this site; if it does not, you pay ro's cash rates plus the membership.
What the Trustpilot reviews say (September 2026)
ro's company-wide Trustpilot profile stands at 3.9 across 6,690 reviews. We read the newest reviews at every star level rather than the headline number.
The 5-star reviews are about speed and the clinician. "Applying for RO was quick and easy. I got a response within an hour!" "The meeting with the NP was on time. She was very thorough." "They are good to answer questions quickly and not leave you hanging." "All has been convenient and affordable so far."
The 2- and 3-star reviews cluster around three things. Money first: "I didn't understand that $39 initial fee was for consultation and not the medicine"; "I already saw a second charge for some kind of subscription in addition to the monthly charge"; "Would be nice to know the possible fee for medication before paying the $39." Then reaching someone: "I wish you had a phone # for better communication"; "Needed to contact ro by phone to expedite delivery. Impossible! Video call with MD a mere short formality. Messages returned in 2-3 business days"; a 4-star reviewer adds "I'd like to be able to chat directly with someone. All I can find are FAQ." Then delivery and dosing: one order "delayed for 4 days" arrived with "all of the ice packs totally melted"; another reviewer "had to choose a medication without any guidance from a physician" and was charged before speaking to one; a third received "the smallest dosage of GLP-1" among friends on other platforms.
None of these describe a fake operation. They describe a large company whose billing structure and messaging-only support frustrate a meaningful minority. That is consistent with a 3.9.

What ro patients report on Reddit
The Reddit threads we verified are unusually rich in numbers. "I used ro for 3 months and dropped 25 lbs... they were seamless throughout the whole process" - and then: "The pricing ended up being the deciding factor for me after those few months, I started with another provider." A member since January 2024: "I'm loyal because they delivered what was promised... I've lost 50-60 lbs. I get my Wegovy shots through insurance and Walgreens." Another: "I've been on ro for 3 months and have lost 22 pounds! Extremely happy!"
The counterweights: a Zepbound user two months in on the 2.5 mg starter vials "lost 1 pound. Just one... It's been expensive and frustrating," and a prospective customer asking "Could someone explain the cost breakdown to me? It's somewhat confusing." Results and service draw little criticism; the membership-plus-medication cost is the thing people leave over. Single posts are anecdotes; we quote them because the same theme repeats.
What To Know Before Starting GLP-1 Treatment
Before starting GLP-1 treatment, it's important to understand a few key things. These medications require a prescription from a licensed clinician and aren't suitable for everyone. Some people may experience side effects, especially during the first few weeks as the body adjusts.
GLP-1s also tend to work best when combined with basic lifestyle habits like balanced nutrition and regular physical activity.
That's why choosing a provider that offers proper medical screening and ongoing follow-up support is essential for both safety and long-term success.

Where the skepticism is fair
Three places. The bill is two bills. A membership ($39 the first month, then $74 to $149 a month depending on plan) plus the medication at ro's cash rate unless insurance covers it - the Wegovy pill from $149 the first month and then $299, the Zepbound KwikPen from $299 the first month and then more. Every "I didn't understand the fee" review traces back to this. Our ro cost guide does the full math. Support is messaging-first. Several reviewers wanted a phone number and did not find one, and report 2-3 business-day replies. It is not the cheap route. Paying cash, compounded semaglutide at wellmedr ($49), embody ($69) or altRx ($89) costs a fraction of brand-name medication plus a membership. ro's case is strongest when insurance pays for the drug.
So - is ro legit?
Yes. Licensed providers who can decline you, an in-house pharmacy, brand-name FDA-approved medication, and a public record of 6,690 reviews that reads like a real, large company: fast and professional for most, frustrating for a minority over billing and reachability. Decide on the model, not the legitimacy. If your insurance covers a GLP-1 and you want the branded pen through a reputable platform, ro is a strong fit. If you are paying cash and want the lowest monthly number, the compounded providers win on price by a wide margin.
